Rachel Riley strikes out at Anne Robinson for stating she needed to ‘shut her up’ on Countdown

Countdown star Rachel Riley has actually struck out at previous host Anne Robinson after she criticised her on-set behaviour.

Previous Weakest Link host Robinson, 80provided the Channel 4 video game program for simply one year, from 2021 to 2022, signing up with regulars Riley and Susie Dent

Throughout Robinson’s time on the program, there were a number of reports that she was feuding with Riley, who signed up with the series in 2009, changing Carol Vorderman.

It was declared that Riley, 39, thought about “leaving” from the program due to increasing stress with Robinson, which presumably produced an “uncomfortable and uneasy environment” on set.

While the set were at first complimentary of each other, Riley quickly confessed she had not “done much bonding” with Robinson, who changed Nick Hewer.

Following this, Robinson called out Riley for “disruptive” her by talking in the background while she was talking to the program’s participants.

In a current interview with The TelegraphRobinson rejected having a fight with Riley, however stated: “Rachel was a bit talkative when I was talking to the candidates once we shut her up it was great.”
